HELLO!

I'm Beverly—a creative soul, boy mom, music lover, garden enthusiast, and the artist behind Camellia & Moss Studio. With more than 30 years of experience as a graphic designer and creative director, I've spent my career bringing ideas to life across virtually every design discipline. In fact, I was often introduced to new clients as the "omni designer"—if it could be designed, I could design it.

A few years ago, I discovered surface pattern design and immediately fell in love. It felt like the perfect intersection of everything I've always enjoyed: graphic design, traditional art, photography, typography, and interior design. Today, every collection begins with inspiration, a sketchbook, and a whole lot of heart.

Born and raised in Maryland, I relocated to South Carolina's Lowcountry in 2025. Shortly after the move, I enrolled in Surface Design Immersion, a decision that completely transformed my creative path. Surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, I found an endless source of inspiration for my work.

One of my favorite places is Brookgreen Gardens, whose magnificent live oaks, Spanish moss, sculptures, and lush gardens have completely stolen my heart. The gardens inspired my first pattern collection and continue to spark new ideas. Living near the ocean is equally inspiring—daily beach walks, bike rides along the marsh, and weekly visits to Brookgreen fill both my sketchbook and my imagination.

After years behind a computer screen, I've happily rediscovered the joy of pencil, pen, and watercolor. Using my own photography as reference, I create artwork rooted in the beauty that surrounds me every day. My designs are a celebration of place, story, and the simple moments that inspire us to slow down and look a little closer.

Creativity has always found its way into every chapter of my life. At age eleven, after filling notebooks with doodles and hand-lettering, I received my first calligraphy set and quickly became captivated by the art of beautiful letterforms. Years later, I worked professionally as a calligrapher, an experience that helped shape my love of typography and thoughtful design.

I've also explored jewelry design over the years through my line, just b and you. My pieces have been worn by artists including Miranda Lambert and Hillary Scott of Lady A, and one of my favorite memories was designing a piece inspired by Dustin Lynch's song "Cowboys and Angels" and presenting it to him personally at CMA Fest in Nashville.
